If it's about themselves or someone/something they like, they pretty it up, even if subconsciously, but if the topic of conversation is a hated subject, they might unobjectively judge it or outright lie about it. Let alone real life history, even in the simplest of things people tend to change little details depending on their attitude to the topic. That's actually a very good point and I think it was one of the main themes of Umineko. History is written by the victors or in this case the survivor.
It showed Kinzo's version of events, his prettied up telling of the story. It may sound foolish, but what makes Umineko, like any visual novel or jrpg, interesting to me is that I care about the characters and I probably wouldn't get invested in the ones I can find in those books. I don't have much experience with mystery novels, but damn it was fun to theorize different possibilities, I even thought about reading some classic crime fiction afterwards, but decided against it. I suppose I got lucky with my deductive reasoning, even though I've missed the core of things, ha-ha. On MAL, for instance, users have avatars and signatures, profile pictures and profile layouts, favorite anime/manga/characters/people, and that adds a lot to individuality.Īnyway, with the exception of some messengers, old-style forums like MAL are the only type of platforms I use to talk to people online, so it would suck if it was changed for the worse to accommodate newer generation of users. Not to mention, the latter doesn't even have avatars or any kind of user customization besides flairs, so it feels like talking to opinion-spewing machines. One has a character limit of 140 or 280 and I have no idea how can someone have a meaningful conversation this way, while on Reddit you either talk by stating your opinion to no one or reply to someone else directly, so you can't engage in conversation with several different people at once like on traditional forums. I hate new web design - it offers easier UI and some convenient tools, but imo it's soulless and ugly most of the time.Īlso, I could never get into popular social networking services like Twitter or Reddit. That said, I think the new system has some potential in it, I just hope they won't change the basic design of the site, like profiles, forums and such. One of the other issues I've noticed is that in the old system you could grasp the whole list with a glance, but now you have to click something and look around the bigger images in an attempt to register every item on the list in your mind. I think admins will improve it over time, but I do agree that the way it is now it's too bulky. Glad to hear about Higehiro, I wanted to watch this one too when I have time for it. Still, I could've possibly left some in that folder anyway since everyone has different standards or I could've just miss it. I don't know about your way of thinking, but many people don't like to see lewds of their favorite characters. I have 300+ of Ganyu pictures saved, but some of them might be of lower quality or more suggestive/revealing so I wasn't sure you'd appreciate it, i.e. STB 50 spell cards captured including all of Youmu's.
